Sogo Ishii's CRAZY THUNDER ROAD Available on Blu-ray from Third Window Films (UK / 21 February)

Ken, a gang leader dreaming of a quiet life with his girlfriend Noriko, and Jin, Ken’s maverick successor, who isn’t about to let yakuza kingpins tell him what to do or whom to kill. Jin’s violent individualism in a world where even outlaws follow the bosses’ orders references the doomed anti-establishment heroes of Kinji Fukasaku, but Crazy Thunder Road points toward a new style of genre filmmaking-fast-paced, quick-witted and brilliantly stylized.

“Will you go on riding or not?”

Ditched (2021, Canada) Review

Ditched (2021, Canada) Review

Storyboard artist Christopher Donaldson is no stranger to the horror genre, having worked on the Child’s Play remake, Come to Daddy, The Order, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. After his directional work on the television series Necessary Evil, it was inevitable that the Canadian-raised filmmaker would direct his first feature, and boy does Ditched delivers. That is not to say that Donaldson’s suspense thriller is not without its faults, but Ditched certainly succeeds as a highly enjoyable, horrifically gory cat-and-mouse romp, with just enough blood splatter to make Sam Raimi blush.

“Tonight, each one of you is going to die, because… you deserve it.”

Together, the unlikely duo discover that the local high school sits atop an ancient burial mound that may very well be a subterranean gateway to hell.
