Ranking the Best of the Classic Universal Monsters

Half of what makes a good horror film is a good monster. Without a believable, and ultimately scary, antagonist there’s not much for the audience to latch onto. 5 Essential George A. Romero Inspired Zombie Movies

Dawn of the Dead (1978)

It’s sort of ironic. In the late seventies, George A. Romero scorned mindless consumerism in Dawn of the Dead by having his zombies putter around aimlessly in a shopping mall. Now, the zombie thing has become such a cash crop… But for all the goofy gimmickry out there, Romero has inspired a few great films, some which have approached the subject matter in a different way.
