The 2019 documentary is comprised of vintage camcorder footage of El Duce, frontman of the notorious shock rock band The Mentors. Rodney Ascher (The Nightmare, Room 237) and David Lawrence (editor of Leap of Faith: William Friedkin on The Exorcist) co-direct.
The El Duce Tapes arrives on VHS in a black clamshell case with artwork by Benjamin Marra. It’s limited to 50 units. Each tape includes a letter from Rodney Ascher. Stay tuned after the movie for a special feature: ‘Tape 2: Hollywood Reservoir’ raw footage.
