The calendars may say that Halloween is over but what do they know? At Cigarette Burns we’re always prepared to take a step into the supernatural, look under the floor boards and venture into places where most mortals fear to tread whatever the time of year. So put down the pumpkin and venture over to the Rio Cinema, Dalston on the 19th November, where we’ll be screening Lucio Fulci’s outrageous shocker The House By The Cemetery, uncut and remastered on the big screen.
The third entry in Fulci’s unofficial Gates of Hell trilogy, following City of the Living Dead and previous Cigarette Burns favourite The Beyond, The House By The Cemetery provides a typical Fulci feast of surreal imagery, twisting narratives, and enough gore and grue to make Clive Barker blanche.
Banned for many years as a fixture on the original DPP list, we are proud to present The House By The Cemetery fully uncut and, thanks to our friends at Arrow Video, in a brand new hi-definition transfer.

It’s sure to be another insane night of fun at the Rio, following our extremely successful recent screenings of Videodrome and the Female Convict trilogy. As usual the bar will be open until 2.30am, and we’ll have DJs from Rough Trade spinning our favourite soundtracks before and after the film. Also we’ll be welcoming the legendary Psychotronic over from Camden to sell an assortment of cult DVDs and memorabilia.
Tickets are £7.50, doors are 11.30pm. The Rio Cinema is located on Kingsland Road, Dalston, and easy to reach via bus or Overground.
