To be fair, even if you don’t want to end up a multi-coloured mish mash of neon glop, there’s no reason not to start the year off with STREET TRASH.
THE seminal Melt Movie (in teeny little sub genre of a sub genre with like 10 titles associated with …it, it’s difficult not to show up fairly high on the list) is the story of a rag tag group of bums who reside in a trash heap, making ends meet by scraping what little they can from bins or terrorising the local community into relinquishing what little pocket change they might have. They spend their nights harassing member of their own clan and drinking a newly found stash of decades old Tenafly Viper, and the first drink will be their last.
A hilarious, tongue in cheek slice of grubby 80’s Brooklyn, which I would love to say no longer exists, but some of which still lurks in corners of that fair borough.
Come down, and see what may very well be the single most requested film we’ve been asked to show. Yes, it’s that good.
Flashback Record’s very own Graham Murphy will be spinning lovely vinyl grubbies to set the mood before and after the screening and the bar will remain open throughout the film and after, a brilliant night is guaranteed. All for a measly £7.50.
